Following our study of the wonderful history of the Church, I want to present, as a supplement, the three kinds of Jews who at the time of the apostolic church:
- the Hebrews: were the descendants of those Israelites always lived in Palestine. Jews were regarded as purebreds. Spoke Hebrew, but eventually, he became (as in all other languages \u200b\u200bin the world), becoming the dialect Aramaic or Syro-Chaldean.
- or the Jews-GREEK HELLENIC These were the descendants of the Jews' dispersion. " They are called Hellenists because "Hellenistic" Greek means. Were the branch of Jews abroad largest, but also had many of them whose residence was in Jerusalem and Judea. (On second thought, another opportunity to write a supplement completely on this kind of Jews).
- The proselytism were of foreign blood after renouncing paganism embraced Judaism. But that had to go through a rigorous process, beginning with circumcision. This type of Jews there are distinguished from the "God-fearing", because they were foreigners who are not circumcised but maintained an amicable relationship with the Jews.
I hope this supplement helps to understand a little better the three kinds of Jews who at the time of the apostolic church.
Expect the next installment of this series of studies.
