One of my friends approached me and asked me why there are Christians who walk in sin and exert clear the gifts of the Spirit?
My answer was simple: The Holy Spirit gives the gifts to whomever He chooses. Sometimes these people, blessed with the gifts, fall into a life of sin, but as were before receiving the gifts, continue to exercise normally. Thus a Christian is to exercise spiritual gifts, is spiritual when growing in love for God and others.
The example of the Corinthians is very clear on this issue. Paul sent a letter which reveals the immoral way in which they lived, and yet these believers had the power to exercise all the gifts of the Spirit. Emphasises that also can become spiritual if we practice love, otherwise we are like that only makes noise cymbal.
